Day 1

White chocolate,

I wish I knew you better. You’re so underrated. People talk about how dark chocolate is “good for you” and “high in antioxidants” and whatever the hell else they say. And the slight bitterness probably makes people feel like they’re doing something good for themselves, like eating vegetables or taking medicine. Or something.

But you, white chocolate, are a true gem, an unapologetic indulgence even in our looks-obsessed age. You’re sweet, beguiling, unpretentious. And in such a complicated world, such things are truly priceless.

Let’s get together, you and me – how does January, 2011 sound?

Love,

Sam
